Gombe State House Of Assembly Impeaches Speaker
The Gombe State House of Assembly, on Tuesday morning elected as its Speaker, Abubakar Mohammed following the impeachment of Abubakar Sadiq.
Chief Whip of the House, Musa Buba who briefed journalists on behalf of other lawmakers said the removal of the former Speaker was in line with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

Buba said 16 out of 24 members of the House passed a vote of no confidence on the former Speaker.
He however dismissed insinuations that the House’s move was being sponsored, adding that the decision was in the best interest of the state.
