GOOD FRIDAY: BUT HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS…

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. (Colossians 2:14).
It was on the cross that Jesus Christ attained the victory over the devil, sin and death. The resurrection is therefore the result of the cross. It is therefore a mismatch to exalt the resurrection more than the cross.
The cross is therefore the central truth of redemption, the key that unlocks the secret of the eternal purpose Lord Jesus Christ.
You must have a deeper revelation of the cross if you must live a victorious Christian life. The cross is the greatest victory while the resurrection is the greatest triumph.
Jesus exchanged our lives with His on the cross and that’s the mystery of the cross. The cross ever became the life we now live by faith.
It was there on the cross that He obtained for us a legal discharge from the hand-writing of ordinances which is against us, for it threatened our eternal ruin.
And even when He was provoked by those scoffs to come down from the cross and leave His undertaking unfinished, His resolution fortified Him against that temptation. He knew that the matter was settled, if no cross, then no Christ, no crown.
The power of the cross is inexhaustible for it undertook our sanctification, saved us from the power of sin and death and has given us the power to live free from sin.
Live in the power of the cross by your confession of faith in the cross of Jesus which is still potent today to make you a victorious Christian.
He was beaten, totured and dragged to the Cross Of Calvary because of me and you.
He would have rejected God’s Instruction to come to Earth in form of man and die, but what a Man Of Love!
He came to die that we might die no more…
Do you know that Coronavirus or whatever plague that’s going about, has no power over if you are in Jesus?
Sickness has been nailed to the Cross and by His Stripes we are healed.
What does the Death Of Jesus signify for you?
This is not a time to party or live carelessly this is a time for sober reflection…
Has sin died in your life? Are you taking Jesus to the Cross for the second time? Oh that Precious Blood of Christ! It’s able to cleanse my life from sins and make me immune to any danger.
As we mark Good Friday today, let the power of the Cross, cross out every negative tendency and sin that has separated us from God.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
