Gov. Akeredolu Says, Operation Amotekun Wasn’t To Divide Nigeria

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has stressed that the creation of the joint task force by the Southwest states was not conceived to create division in Nigeria.

He maintained that the joint task force called Operation Amotekun was conceived out of the fact that Southwest state were disturbed with the level of insecurity growing in the region adding that, the task force would ensured that people of Southwest states are safe and protected.

Akeredolu described insecurity in the Southwest as an embarrassment to the region adding that, he believed in the unity of Nigeria.

He said “It has become embarrassing that insecurities are happening in the south-west state. Amotekun will save us from ritual killing, cybercrime, kidnapping among others. We shall not relent until the entire place is secured.

Akeredolu also stressed that the task force would not engage in political activities in the region.
