Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, has showered encomium on his Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for the part played by the monarch in ensuring the evacuation trafficked women who were languishing in foreign countries.
The governor expressed his gratitude to the monarch for his selfless and impacting actions during a courtesy visit to his palace.
The governor, who was represented by his senior Special Assistant (Diaspora Affairs), Femi Odere, described Oba Ogunwusi as ‘an activist monarch’
The governor’s aide expressed his appreciation, on behalf of Governor Fayemi, to Oba Ogunwusi for the incredible role that the monarch is playing in not only rescuing women that were trafficked to foreign lands as modern day ‘slaves’ but also assists in their resettlement and empowerment when they arrive the country.
Odere described Oba Ogunwusi as an “activist monarch” because of the incredible and unprecedented impacts he’s making on this front as well as in the lives of Nigerian youths and pledged to work with him in eradicating what he called a “morally reprehensible scourge” in the Nigerian society.
The SSA was led to the palace by Mrs. Kehinde Adelaja Okoroafor , the founder and CEO of Founder Make Mee Elegant,” an NGO that’s also involved in rescuing trafficked Nigerians and their resettlement and empowerment.
In his remarks, Oba Ogunwusi thanked Gov Fayemi’s aide for the visit and expressed his support for the Ekiti State governor in repositioning the state for sustainable development.
