Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has declared his intentions of ensuring total compliance to all preventive protocols against the second wave of Covid-19.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Gov Simon Lalong also forbids any cultural festivals scheduled for Christmas and all recreation facilities must be shut down until further notice.
Lalong, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof. Danladi Atu, who is also the Coordinator of the State Taskforce on COVID-19, stated that the event was organized to bring the urgent situation to the attention of stakeholders caused by the second wave of the pandemic especially through the Christmas season.

He said that the governor ordered that vigorous steps be taken to make sure that people are aware to observe all COVID-19 prevention protocols to stop the spread of the disease.
The communiqué reads: “All public gatherings, including places of worship should cut down attendance to 50 percent of their capacity.
“All cultural festivals are banned, and all recreation centers are to be closed until further notice.
“The use of facemasks should be enforced in all public places while social distancing, hand washing and other protocols are adhered to.
“COVID-19 testing should be enhanced in all Local Government areas while all sample collection centers are publicized to encourage voluntary testing.”
