The governor gave the commendation during the official inauguration of hospital sanitation upgrading projects at the state Specialist Hospital, Bauchi.

He said that he had signed several memorandums of understandings (MoUs) with the foundation during his last trip to Germany in order to move the state to greater heights, stressing that he never believed they were going to become reality so soon.

Mohammed stressed that the foundation had mapped out 10 hospitals in 10 local government areas of the state, adding that three of them had been upgraded in three council areas, namely: Bauchi, Gamawa and Kirfi.

He listed the remaining seven local government areas to be touched by the foundation to include: Zaki, Katagum, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro, Toro and Ningi.

“I really appreciate the Founder of Water is Right Foundation, Mr Rolf Stahlhofen, for a promise kept.

“As at the time we were signing those MoUs in Germany, I did not know that they would come into fruition so soon.

“I was afraid because it used to be a normal usual way of doing things, that is, signing an agreement and at the end of the day, nothing will come out of it.

“This is the second phase of the fulfillment of what we have signed and it is being delivered here in Bauchi,” he said.

Mohammed further revealed that even though the foundation was working with the state government, the resources were coming directly from it.

“You have come; you have conquered; you have delivered and even if you don’t come back, you have made the point.

“We are ready to give our counterpart resources and facilitation so that whatever we might have signed, we will go for it,” the governor said.

He promised that government would ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.
Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of the Foundation, Mrs Nancy Musa, expressed appreciation to the state government for its cooperation.

“We are honoured by your hospitality, cooperation and assistance all through the entire period that we were here.

“We are very pleased to be of service to the distinguished people and government of Bauchi State,” she said.
