Gov Obaseki Names Edo 6,000-Capacity Arena After Rema

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has announced that the new 6,000-capacity Edo Arena will be named after global afrobeats star Rema.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governor made this revelation during the groundbreaking ceremony for the project in Benin City on Wednesday.

Rema, who was in Benin for his homecoming concert at Ogbe Stadium, joined Governor Obaseki for the event and laid the first block of what will be called “Rema’s Dome.”

The arena is being constructed on the former Garrick Memorial School Grounds on Ekenhuan Road.

Governor Obaseki expressed his pleasure in having Rema participate in the ceremony and noted that the arena, once completed, will be a versatile venue capable of hosting concerts, national conferences, symposiums, and other large-scale events.

He also noted that the arena is expected to attract more visitors to the state, offering them the chance to experience Edo’s rich culture, which in turn will create job opportunities for the youth.
