The Palace of Emir of Daura has been shut down by the Katsina State Government in order to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

The governor of the state, Aminu Masari, declared openly in Katsina yesterday, 5 May 2020, while giving the update on the COVID-19 situation in the state, that the palace had no plan to create a measure to make the social distancing works within the vicinity of the palace in accordance to the rules of the health workers.
“A palace is a place where people visit all the time. We take this decision to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
“Reports reaching me reveal that people in rural areas don’t obey the order; people gather during marriages, naming ceremonies, burials, and other social gatherings.
“I have directed the Emirs of Katsina and Daura to deal decisively with anyone violating the order,” he said.
