Group Warns Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat, Others Over Senator Solomon’s ‘One-Man Control’ Threat

- Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS) is the apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in both Mushin and Odi-Olowo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
- Adeniran also lambasted Senator Solomon for political inconsistency.
- The Mushin Democratic Front also took aim at the nature of the supporting groups. “How does a group like Mushin and Odi-Olowo Agenda, supposedly representing Mushin and Odi-Olowo interests, suddenly become the loudest defenders of Senator Solomon’s personal agenda?”
The political atmosphere in Mushin has heated up again as a leading socio-political group, the Mushin Democratic Front, issued a scathing rebuttal to a recent press statement by the Concerned Citizens of Mushin and another group, Mushin and Odi-Olowo Agenda (MOA), describing it as “empty rhetoric” that dodged the real issues of autocracy and manipulation within the APC.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this comes amid rising complaints regarding the Mushin Democratic Front’s description of a long-standing “culture of imposition and one-man control,” allegedly orchestrated by Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), the apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in both Mushin and Odi-Olowo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

Responding to the joint defense of Senator Solomon by the two groups, Titilayo Adeniran, Publicity Secretary of the Mushin Democratic Front, accused them of deliberately ignoring the real issues. “They couldn’t deny or address the simple facts we raised, that a single individual has consistently handpicked everyone from chairmen to councillors, SLGs to supervisors, ward and LGA executives. Their silence on that speaks louder than any denial,” he said.
Adeniran also lambasted Senator Solomon for political inconsistency. “He’s confused. One day he claims Mandate Movement, the next he plants a vice chairman from Ideal Club, and then uses the Unity Forum to share councillorship slots. Who is he really with? Or is this just about consolidating personal control?”
He continued, “Eventually, those who truly worked during elections are sidelined, while his loyalists, many of whom were absent during grassroots mobilization are rewarded. Then when genuine party faithful raise concerns, they’re silenced with the usual, ‘Let’s just work for the success of our party.’ That’s not unity. That’s exploitation.”
The Mushin Democratic Front also took aim at the nature of the supporting groups. “How does a group like Mushin and Odi-Olowo Agenda, supposedly representing Mushin and Odi-Olowo interests, suddenly become the loudest defenders of Senator Solomon’s personal agenda?” Adeniran queried. “Same goes for the Concerned Citizens, are they concerned about Mushin or about preserving the status quo?”
On claims of electoral victories as validation of leadership, the Mushin Democratic Front was blunt. “Winning elections through a rigged internal process is not a badge of honour. It’s a symptom of rot. We’re not attacking APC’s success at the polls; we’re questioning how candidates emerged.”
The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), and the Lagos APC leadership to urgently step in. “If this pattern continues, Mushin may remain APC on paper but collapse in loyalty and turnout by 2027,” Adeniran warned.
They also urged LASIEC to ensure transparency and independence in the forthcoming local government elections.
