Guardians Of The Naira: EFCC Introduces Task Force Against Currency Abuse

Eko Hot Blog reports that, in response to growing concerns about the declining value of the Naira and various forms of currency abuse, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has unveiled a Special Task Force dedicated to addressing these issues.

The task force, specifically focused on Currency Abuse and Forex Malpractices, aims to tackle challenges such as the mutilation of the Naira, currency spraying at social events, and illegal trading of foreign currencies in Nigeria.

These practices have raised worries among citizens and prompted the EFCC to take decisive action.

Individuals with information regarding the misuse of the Naira or any involvement in illegal forex trading are encouraged to contact the EFCC’s dedicated Taskforce through toll-free numbers: 091 3500 3322 and 091 2770 3303. Additionally, reports can be sent via email to report@efcc.gov.ng.

The Special Task Force is set to crack down on various activities, including illegal forex trading, institutions charging fees in foreign currencies, individuals spraying and stamping on Naira at social events, and those involved in mutilating and defacing the national currency.

Concerned citizens are urged to report any observed unwholesome practices to the EFCC SPECIAL TASK FORCE in all Commands for swift intervention.

The EFCC is committed to preserving the integrity of the Naira and maintaining a stable forex environment in Nigeria.
