Guardiola assures City over likely Champions League ban
Manchester City have been assured of a maintenance of the status quo no matter what happens in their ongoing Financial Fair Play (FFP) case by UEFA.
Their coach, Pep Guardiola, made the assurance to the Premier League champions management, saying he’s staying even if they are barred from playing in the Champions League.
According to The Mirror, Italian champions, Juventus, considered luring Guardiola away from City should the club be banned over financial irregularities.
However, the Turin giants, who have Cristiano Ronaldo on their books, are now ready to appoint Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, following an agreement of a compensation package with his London club.
Juve were forced to end their pursuit of the Catalan coach after making it clear he intends to honour the final two years of his contract.
