Gunmen Abduct Eight Ceramic Workers In Kogi

  • “We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, I am confused and I don’t know where to go from here.”

EKO HOT BLOG reports that no fewer than eight ceramic workers have been abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Kogi State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at Emiworo in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Wednesday.

It was learnt that the eight workers with the ceramic company were abducted by the gunmen while loading stones expected to be delivered to the ceramic site located in Itobe.

Sources revealed that the unknown gunmen, who were fully armed, whisked away the workers to an unknown destination.

One of the victims was, however, identified as Hassan Shaibu.

Speaking on the abduction, the wife of the victim confirmed the kidnap of her husband, saying, “Yes, my husband was among those ceramic workers kidnapped in Emiworo.

“We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, I am confused and I don’t know where to go from here,” she stated.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the incident was confirmed by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Ovye Aya.

The police spokesperson, however, said six mining workers of the ceramic company were abducted by the gunmen.

He further noted that the police in collaboration with other security agencies had combed the bushes to ensure that the abducted workers regained freedom from their abductors.
