Tension has enveloped the Ajiran community in the Agungi area of Lekki, Lagos State, after gunmen brutally murdered Demola, the first son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Chief Tijani Akinloye.
The tragic incident reportedly took place on Monday morning near Ebano Supermarket along Chevron Drive.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that a source, who chose to remain anonymous due to the gravity of the situation, confirmed that the assassination has left the community in shock, causing many residents to flee out of fear. The once-bustling area is now largely deserted as the news of the killing spreads.
An estate management within the community issued a notice confirming the incident and urged residents to avoid the Chevron, Agungi, and Ajiran areas for their safety.
The notice read: “This is to notify all residents that Ajiran (Agungi) king’s son was assassinated today along Chevron Drive (close to Ebano Supermarket) this morning.
“We therefore plead to our esteemed residents to avoid Chevron area, Agungi, and Ajiran for now for their safety.”
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that he was not yet informed about the incident but promised to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
Further details on the case are awaited as the community remains in a state of unease.
