Garba said some of the residents escaped into a nearby forest, but two of his family members were among those killed during the attack.
He said the number of the deceased could be “more than 15” because many people escaped into the forest with gun wounds.
He said so far, more than 10 bodies had been recovered while several people, including women and children, were missing.
Garba added that soldiers and policemen were drafted to the community.
The spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the attack but could not give the actual figure of those killed.
