Unidentified Gunmen have killed military personnel and a policeman at a military checkpoint at the Oton area of Sapele, Sapele council area of Delta state.
Delta State Police Command confirmed the incident occurred on Sunday night, causing serious tension in the timber town.
The deceased were gunned down when bandits attacked the military post through the Oton River in speedboats.
The spokesperson of the Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident on Monday morning said “two operatives were killed. We are investigating the incident.”

She further stated that no one has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Community sources claimed that the armed men had stormed the community through the Oton River to carry out an operation.
It was gathered that the operatives were shot dead during a gun duel with the bandits.
It was not clear if any of the Gunmen were killed during the onslaught.
Residents of the community revealed that military troops have been drafted to the area.
