Gunmen Shot Dead Renowned Ondo Monarch


Tragedy struck in Ondo on Thursday after suspected gunmen killed Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi.

The first class monarch met his unfortunate end after his convoy was attacked along Benin-Owo-Akure highway at Elegbeka of Ose Local Government.

Teo Ikoro, police public relations officer in Ondo, who confirmed the tragic incident, said Adeusi was on his way from a meeting in Akure, the state capital, when he was ambushed.

It was also gathered that the bandits opened fire on the vehicle conveying the monarch, on sighting the vehicle.

The monarch was said to have been rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Owo where he eventually passed away.
