Gunmen Shot Two Naval Officers Dead In Kogi

At least two naval officers, a male and another female, were killed when they were attacked along  Lokoja-Okene express road.

The incident occurred on Thursday around 6pm.

The officers were traveling in a Toyota Sienna bus when they were attacked by the gunmen who opened fire, killing them on the spot.

The is happening six days after an Army officer, Capt. GSM Abubakar, was killed along the same road while his mother and wife were reportedly kidnapped.

Police Commissioner (CP) Ayuba Ede, who confirmed the incident, saying he had sent his men to the scene for more details concerning the incident. .

“Yes, I heard about it and I have dispatched my men there to bring me the details of how and when it happened,” said the CP.

As at the time of filing this report, it was yet to be ascertained where the naval officers were coming from or heading to when the incident happened.
