Gunmen Storm Church, Abduct Three Worshippers In Ogun

  • A source informed that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of ₦6 million before the three worshippers are freed

EKO HOT BLOG reports that unidentified gunmen, in the early hours of Sunday, invaded a white garment church to kidnap three worshippers in Obada area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The church, Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ona Ara Parish, located along Railway Station, was stormed during a vigil.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident to newsmen, saying the anti-kidnapping unit of the command had been mobilised to the area.

It was gathered that the three victims taken away by the gunmen were, Adebare Oduntan, Ifeoluwa Alani-Bello and Mary Oliyide.

A source informed that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of ₦6 million before the three worshippers are freed.

The police spokesman, Oyeyemi recalled that the command had warned churches against night programmes in areas considered to be isolated.

“If at all such places of worship want to have a night programme, they should inform the police so that police patrol could be extended to such area and adequate security provided,” he said.
