Gunmen Storm Community, Abduct Two

The residents of Ikaram-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government of Ondo State were thrown into pandemonium as unknown gunmen abducted two persons in the community.
It was gathered that one of the victims identified as Gbodi was abducted few kilometres from his residence, along Okeagbe/Ikaram highway while returning from his farm.

The residents of Ikaram-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government of Ondo State were thrown into pandemonium as unknown gunmen abducted two persons in the community on Wednesday.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that one of the victims identified as Gbodi was abducted few kilometres from his residence, along Okeagbe/Ikaram highway while returning from his farm.

It was learnt that the other victim was abducted very close to where some construction workers were kidnapped recently along lkaram/Akunu highway within the area.

The abductors of one of the victims had, however, demanded N10m ransom after establishing contact with the family.

The traditional ruler of the community, the Akala of Ikaram, Oba Andrew Momodu, who confirmed the latest abduction, said his people have been living in palpable fear since gunmen laid siege to the community.

The monarch further disclosed that the victims were abducted and dragged into the forest.

The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Tee-Leo lkoro, who also confirmed the abduction, said security operatives including vigilante and hunters had been deployed to comb the forest in a bid to rescue the victims and apprehend the abductors.
