Gunmen Storm Ibadan Police Station, Kill Officer On Duty
The residents of Ikolaba area of Ibadan were gripped by trepidation after gunmen broke into the only police station in the locality on Friday.
Confirming the incident, police public relations officer in the state, Gbenga Fadyei, said the gunmen killed a police corporal and injured many others.
The deceased was among the officers on duty when the attackers struck.
Fadeyi, who didn’t give further details about incident, said the attack took the policemen by surprise.
He said policemen had been deployed in the area and normalcy has been restored.

It is not clear those who launched the attack but Fadeyi said investigation is ongoing.
The attack happened at a time when efforts are being put in place to check the rising insecurity across the country.
