EKO HOT BLOG reports that tragedy struck at the King of King Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Lagos as unknown gunmen stormed the church and shot dead a pastor, Bolanle Ibrahim.
It was gathered that the Redeemed pastor was shot dead on the altar of the church located inside Maidan village in Ikosi Ketu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
EKO HOT BLOG learnt that the late cleric was praying for some persons during a child dedication when the gunmen stormed the church.
The deceased aunt, Mrs. Justina Alebiosu, disclosed that the assailants dragged the Redeemed pastor out of the altar, adding that another senior pastor in the church approached them and demanded what they wanted from Ibrahim.
She further disclosed that the gunmen attacked the pastor before returning to the victim.

Mrs. Alebiosu, who described the incident as a clear case of assassination, said, “Before they killed him, they showed him his picture to identify if he was actually the right person they came for.
“His death was an unfortunate one, we have lost a gentleman, it was true we were born as Muslims, but we converted to Christianity. My thinking is that my brother had business transaction with someone.
“I was told when the assailants wanted to drag him out of the pulpit where he was praying for women who brought their children for dedication, he begged them to kill him there and that was where he was eventually killed by the gunmen,” she said.
The Redeemed pastor’s aunt further said the gunmen threatened to shoot any member of the church who tried to challenge them.
She, therefore, called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, to release the body of the late pastor for burial.
Speaking, the wife of the late RCCG pastor, Mrs. Kudirat Ibrahim, debunked the insinuation that Ibrahim was a cultist, adding that her husband was fasting the day he was killed.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, noting that the police had launched a manhunt for the unknown gunmen.
“We are investigating the case because we have a clue into the killing,” the police spokesperson said.
