1. Sedentary lifestyle

Do you know that being physically inactive or idleness all the time, may reduce your life span? According to research, sitting down for long hours have serious health consequences and may shorten your life.

If you want to sit for hours watching movies or if you don’t like to be active, you should think carefully because this is bad for your health. You must engage in at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise or simple activities at least 4-5 days a week.

2. Smoking

It is commonly said that smokers are liable to die young. This statement is very true, smoking is a dangerous habit, and it increases a person’s risk of getting many chronic diseases including heart, stroke and cancer.

3. Alcoholism

Excessive consumption of alcohol is referred to as alcoholism. This is dangerous for the body, moderate drinking may not be as bad.

According to research, you are allowed to drink for 2-3 days a week, with an average of glass alone, anything more than that would cause serious damage in the long run.

4. Eating junk foods

We all know what we eat goes a long way in determining our health status. If you are one of those people fond of eating junk daily and even prefer it over normal food, sorry to say, but you are damaging your health.

Too much processed sugar, carbohydrates and fat is bad for the system.

Eat healthy foods like; whole grains, fruits and vegetables, lean meat, fish, poultry and olive oil.

5. Staying up late.

Many people do not know the importance of sleep to good health and longevity. Sleep helps your body to rebuild tissues and also boosts your immune system.

According to research, you need to put in 7 to 9 hours of sleep every day. This will enable your system to work better, and increase your life span.
