Hajj 2021: Ogun Returns Money To Intending Pilgrims

  • The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Babatunde, said in a statement that intending pilgrims seeking refund should visit the Board’s Secretariat, Block B Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta with evidence of payment receipts and other documents.

Following the cancellation of the 2021 Islamic pilgrimage by the Saudi government, the Ogun State Government  has begun to refund money to intending pilgrims in the state.

This, is in line with the directives of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Recall that the cancellation of this year’s hajj to Mecca and Medinah was as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Salau stressed that those willing to defer their hajj fare deposits till the 2022 exercise should notify the Board of their decision in order to have them properly documented.

He assured all intending pilgrims not to panic over untoward rumours, saying their money was safe with the State government.
