HAJJ: Lagos State Government Urges Muslims To Pray For Eradication Of Covid-19
Lagos State Government has assured the Muslim citizens a well Hajj Service if COVID-19 pandemic is eradicated before the appropriate time of the service.
Lagos State Commissioner for home affairs, Prince Anofiu Olarenwaju Elegushi, said this while sending a message of Ramadan Kareem to the Muslim faithful yesterday at his home town, Ikate Elegushi.
Elegushi who had officially visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia some months ago, before the advent of COVID-19, for pre-planned agenda on how the 2020 Hajj will be successfully performed reiterated the Hajj would have been the best among others in the history of hajj services.

In the Muslim faith, the pilgrimage to Mecca is known as the Hajj. It is an obligation that is done by any capable Muslim within the 11th- 12th Islamic Calendar but its preparation always starts at the early 6th month of the Calendar.
Commissioner who performed the lesser Hajj (Umrah) at Mecca assured Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims that 2020 Hajj will be carried out without any hindrances. He added that Lagos State Government has liaised with the Government of Saudi Arabia for the usual cordial relationship.
During the last visit to Saudi Arabia, Commissioner was accompanied by some stakeholders: the adviser to Mr Governor on Islamic matters, Hon. Jebe Abdullahi Ahmad, Executive Secretary of Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr Rahmon Olajuwon Ishola, Head of Hajj Operation, Alhaji Kamardeen Zubair and some members from the appropriate agencies.
