#HarassBuhariOutOfLondon: Nigerians React To Buhari’s Medical Trip Amid Doctors’ Strike
- The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) commenced a nationwide strike on Thursday barely 48 hours after the president left for the UK
- They are demanding payment of outstanding salaries, salary arrears and an upward review of the hazard allowance, among other issues
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, and other activists gathered outside the Nigerian High Commission in the UK, known as Abuja House, to protest against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari, who is believed to be inside the building in west London, is asked to stop wasting money on foreign trips having made several medical trips to the British capital since he came to power in 2015.
Several clips and photos have surfaced online showing people believed to be Nigerian residents in the London, singing the national anthem and chanting slogans in protest against the President. This has trended the #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon campaign on twitter since Friday.

I salute the men of the Metropolitan Police. They were called by General @MBuhari’s people to stop me. If it were in Buhari’s Nigeria, they’d have beaten me black and blue. Rather, they questioned me, and then satisfied, they allowed the #HarassBuhariOutofLondon protest continue

When @MBuhari’s men called the Police on me this afternoon, I asked the officer officer ‘has Queen Elizabeth II ever come to Nigeria to access healthcare? So, why should you be called when I’m asking my President to return to Nigeria to use our hospitals? #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon

Some Nigerians also took to twitter to react to the development. Below are some comments culled by Ekohotblog:
#HarassBuhariOutOfLondon isn't even the issue. The issue is, if Buhari & the likes of PDP & APC members aren't useless for more than 100 years now, they won't be running to countries that uses their resources to build hospitals & science lab to treat themselves.
Sell out rulers
