Hardship: Listen Protesters, Address Their Concerns – Senator Ireti Kingibe Tells Tinubu
The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Senator Ireti Kingibe, has called on the federal government to address the demands and concerns raised by Nigerians during the recent 10-day EndBadGovernance protest.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that on August 1, Nigerians took to the streets to voice their frustration over what they view as ineffective governance and widespread hardship.
The protests, which spanned various parts of the country, led to several fatalities and numerous injuries.
In a statement released on Sunday, Kingibe urged for meaningful dialogue between the federal government and representatives of the protesters, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to tackle these pressing issues.

She also condemned the excessive force employed by security agencies against peaceful demonstrators, expressing her strong disapproval of the actions taken.
Kingibe said, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones during these demonstrations.
“My thoughts are with the families affected by this tragedy, and I wish a quick and full recovery to those who have been injured.
“The loss of life and suffering are deeply saddening, and it is crucial that we acknowledge and address these painful realities.
“I am deeply concerned about the excessive use of force by the police and other security agencies against peaceful protesters.
“Such actions are counterproductive and do not contribute to resolving the issues at hand.
