‘He Pretended He Was Killed’ — Lagos Police Deny Alleged Killing Of Bike Man

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Police Command has denied allegations that its officers assaulted and killed a bike man.

A Twitter user, Rinu Oduala, had tweeted on Saturday that the police in Lagos had killed the bike man at Lanre Bus-stop, Iron Market.

However, the police spokesperson in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, dismissed the speculation in a statement on Saturday night.

He explained that the bike man who was involved in the controversy has a history of riding against traffic and pretending the police assaulted him to whip up sentiments against the force.

“Nothing of such happened today. This man is fond of driving against traffic and pretending to have been assaulted by the police anytime he is stopped, and always succeeded in whipping up sentiments against the police,” Hundeyin said.

“In this particular video, when he was accosted for driving against traffic, he pretended he was killed by the police. The officers still impounded his motorcycle.

“He later showed up at the station to claim his motorcycle. Appropriate action will be taken. Stop fake news!”
