EKO HOT BLOG reports that remembering his predecessor on the 13th anniversary of his passing, former President Goodluck Jonathan has paid tribute to the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
In a tweet on Thursday, the former Nigerian President hailed Yar’Adua as an exemplary leader who lived selflessly and impartially, with a strong commitment to peace, justice, and accountability.
In his words, “We look back with appreciation to God for his time on earth and the impact of his leadership on our nation.
“President Yar’Adua was an exemplary leader who lived above prejudice and was fair to all. His public life inspired many positively. I always recall with fondness the pleasant experience of working with him as my boss.
“Today, we remember him for his life of selfless service, dedication and commitment to a united and prosperous nation.
“We will continue to remember him for his developmental strides and his commitment to the peace and progress of Nigeria,” he said.
Although it’s been 13 years since Yar’Adua’s untimely death, his memory still lives on in the hearts of many who believe he was the greatest president Nigeria has ever had.
Umaru Musa Yar’Adua served as the President of Nigeria from May 2007 until his unfortunate demise on May 5, 2010.
During his time in office, he implemented a number of policies and programs that many Nigerians consider to be beneficial to the country.
