Job Title: Head, Underwriting
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- The Head, underwriting will oversee key functions such as: data collection, data analysis,
- design of health insurance products, risk assessment and mitigation and utilization review.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strategies and policies for data management, product design and pricing
- Advice management on strategies for revenue optimization
- Perform other strategic functions assigned by the Management
- Collect and analyse data required for key decision-making by management
- Estimate the risk of insuring existing and potential corporate client, household or individual
- Design bespoke health plans, corresponding premium, and amount of coverage for clients
- Oversee utilization review and management of all insured members.
- Provide leadership and direction for Underwriting department
- Manage performance, mentor, and coach team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or related field
- Strong math and analytical skills are essential
- Certificate in or professional membership of insurance, actuary sciences or related bodies
- Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
- Excellent negotiation skills and strategies
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience post NYSC
