Health Insurance: Sanwo-Olu To Enroll 5000 Residents On Birthday

  • 5,000 Lagosians get free health insurance on Sanwo-Olu’s birthday

  • …nominees will be selected from the Lagos State Social Protection Register.

EDITOR’S PICK:

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Executive Council will enroll 5000 residents of Lagos in the Ilera Eko Social Health Plan.

The act is being done in honor of Governor Sanwo-57th Olu’s birthday on June 25 and in keeping with his sympathy for the weak and needy.

Beneficiaries will get free access to high-quality medical care and medications through the ILERA EKO Standard Plan.

The Lagos State Social Protection Register will be used to choose the nominees. The five IBILE divisions of the State will each choose an equal number of the 5000 eligible beneficiaries who will receive Universal Health Coverage.

To ensure accuracy, reliability, and validity of the data collected, these beneficiaries have been identified using a multi-dimensional poverty index method, which also incorporates the poverty means-testing.

The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) oversees the ILERA EKO State Social Health Insurance Plan, which offers a fundamental minimum health plan that offers high-quality, reasonably priced healthcare to all residents of Lagos, particularly those with middle- and low-incomes and the vulnerable.

General consultations, specialist consultations, management of simple chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma), maternal and newborn care, normal delivery and Caesarean section, dental care (with composite fillings), and eye care, including eyeglasses, are all included in the plan’s list of services.

Additionally, there are services for minor and major surgeries, diagnostic tests and imaging, HIV/TB testing, emergency medical care, cancer treatment, and the distribution of prescription medications.

Under the ILERA EKO Health Insurance Plan, a policy cycle lasts for 12 calendar months, and an enrollee’s policy must be renewed before the 25th day of the previous month in order for them to have access to care the following month (Start of renewed policy cycle).

Beginning on July 1, 2022, the chosen beneficiaries will have access to care.
