Health Ministers Ali Pate, Tunji Alausa Sign Performance Bonds To Address Tinubu’s Priority Areas
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate and the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, have signed signed performance bonds with President Bola Tinubu on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health.
They signed the bonds during the three-day retreat held for ministers and presidential aides at the Presidential Villa, State House Conference Center Abuja, from Wednesday, November 1, 2023, to Friday, November 3, 2023.

According to details of the retreat shared with Eko Hot Blog, the performance bonds contain key performance indicators (KPIs) that will track the performances of each ministry, including the Federal Ministry of Health based on the the president’s eight priority areas.
The priority areas include Food security, Ending Poverty, Economic growth and Job creation, Improving access to capital, Promoting Inclusivity – to prominently feature women and youth in all activities, National Security, Fairness and rule of law, and Anti-corruption stance.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alausa said the retreat helped him connect with his fellow Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and top aides of the Tinubu administration.
He described the gathering as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the nation.
“I’m excited to put the insights from the retreat into action in my role as a Minister of State Health and Social Welfare,” the minister said in a statement shared with Eko Hot Blog.
He reiterated the president is focused on making significant investments in education, health and social welfare, as they are essential pillars to the country’s development.
Dr. Alausa noted that the Federal Ministry of Health is steadfast in its mission to save lives, reduce both physical and financial pain and give all Nigerians the healthcare they rightly deserve.
He also disclosed pivotal areas of focus that is expected to be instrumental in driving the necessary changes. These areas encompass:
1. Effective governance: so policies such as the National Health Act are effectively implemented nationwide.
2. Having an effecient, equitable and quality health system: that is digitalised and data driven, treatments are affordable and accessible, preventative care is strengthened and quality of care and service delivery is improved.
3. Unlocking value chains: by promoting clinical research, stimulate local production of health products and shape the market to ensure sustainable local demand.
4. Improving our Health security: so we can prevent and accurately respond to public health threats.
