Ekohotblog reports that on Saturday, there were heavy gunfire when supporters of former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, gathered at the Ake Palace Pavilion for the All Progressives Congress State Congress (APC).
Some armed political thugs had stormed the congress site, firing frequently to frighten away Amosun supporters.
The firing started right away Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Hon. Adekunle Akinlade made their way to the Ake palace grounds.
Party faithful in their hundreds scampered for safety, even as police struggled to restore normalcy.
According to a Dailypost report, police had closed up the Ake palace to prevent the former Governor’s followers from having a congress, but they were subsequently ordered to leave the location.
According to reports, Governor Dapo Abiodun’s APC faction would hold their congress at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
