Heavy Protest In Sokoto Over Arrest Of Deborah’s Killers.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that there is an ongoing protest in Sokoto State seeking the immediate release of persons arrested by police over the gruesome murder of Miss Deborah Samuel who was accused of blasphemy.
The protesters reportedly trooped out and wielded placards with inscriptions such as, “Release our Muslim brothers”, Muslims Are Not Terrorists”, among others.
This news platform had reported that Deborah Samuel, a 200 level student of the Sokoto State College of Education, was on Thursday beaten, stoned and her body was burned afterwards by some northern youths.
The videos of the cruel act went viral on social media and caused massive outrage.
At least two persons were arrested by the police after the incident, and the security agents vowed through Sanusi Abubakar, Police spokesperson in Sokoto State, that the suspects in the viral video on Twitter were spotted and will be nailed soon.
However, a new development has now resulted into protests in the state after protesters demanded the release of some suspects arrested for perpetrating the crime.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, security forces are on the ground managing the situation, as Muslim youths hit the streets on Saturday morning.
