Heavyweight Chaos: Judge Orders Fury vs Wilder Trilogy Fight
- Few days after Fury bragged about his fight with Joshua set for August 14 in Saudi Arabia, history has come back to bite him.
Tyson Fury has been told he must honour a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, jeopardising the giant Brit’s heavyweight unification fight with countryman Anthony Joshua.
On Tuesday , a United States judge ruled in mediation that Wilder has a right to face Fury for a third time before September 15.
Fury won the WBC world heavyweight title from Wilder by knockout in a rematch in Las Vegas in February 2020, after an initial draw between the two fighters in Los Angeles in late 2018.

The contract conditions still authorized the loser of the sequel to order a rematch which Wilder did. It was set for July 2020 but the Covid pandemic prevented it from happening and Fury sought alternatives.
But with Wilder eager to avenge his only loss, the case was sent to mediation overseen by American judge Daniel Weinstein.
According to reports, Weinstein had ruled in favour of Wilder.
In setting a September 15 deadline for the third contest, the judge has blown apart the heavyweight boxing calender, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
