A devastating helicopter accident in New York City has resulted in the loss of several lives, including Agustín Escobar, a senior executive at Siemens, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their three children, aged 4, 8, and 10.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the family along with the pilot, were on a sightseeing tour when the helicopter crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday, April 10th.

Siemens Energy, a former subsidiary of Siemens, confirmed that one of their colleagues, Agustín Escobar, was killed in the accident. Escobar served as a senior executive for Siemens, a leading technology company with global operations.

His wife, Merce Camprubi Montal, worked as a global manager for a major energy technology company.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic helicopter crash in which Agustin Escobar and his family lost their lives,” Siemens told AFP on Friday.

The bodies of all six victims, including three children, have been recovered from the Hudson River after a heartbreaking helicopter accident.

The crash site, located near a tunnel vent, attracted numerous boats as the helicopter’s landing skids became visible above the water’s surface.

Police forces from New York and neighboring New Jersey collaborated with fire department vessels in response to the incident, highlighting the joint efforts of both states in managing the crisis.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a Bell 206 helicopter, further clarifying the specifics of the tragic accident.

“The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate,” it said.
