Hervé Renard has requested a monthly salary of $125,000 to take over as the head coach of the Super Eagles, according to OgaNla Media.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had approached Renard to outline his financial terms, but his demand is reportedly beyond the NFF’s budget.
In contrast, another candidate, Tom Sanfeit, is asking for $100,000 per month.
The NFF and the Sports Ministry have faced challenges in meeting financial commitments, including struggling to pay former coach José Peseiro’s $50,000 monthly salary and currently falling short of the $20,000 required for Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum.
As a result, Eric Chelle has reentered the race to replace Finidi George. Despite Chelle’s basic English skills and less impressive interview performance, he remains a contender for the position.
