The executive chairman of Eredo local government development area (LCDA), Hon. Adeniyi Saliu, has described the Alara of Ilara, Oba Ogunsanwo Olufolarin has a selfless monarch who prioritises the interest and welfare of the people.

Saliu was speaking at the birthday celebration of Oba Ogunsanwo on Tuesday.

The monarch is celebrating his first birthday since he became the traditional ruler of Ilara last month.

Saliu, who spoke with Ekohotblog, while expressing delight at witnessing the birthday event, shower encomiums on oba Ogunsanwo.

He noted how Oba Olufolarin has been supportive in governance just as is late predecessor did and also emphasized on the relevance of the Alara stool and Sungbo Eredo to people from Epe Division.

He said ” I feel elated, very proud of the Kabiesi. He’s done a lot for himself, for humanity and now, he is investing so much to the service of the people of Ilara and Epe Division as a whole, may God bless him. He should continue in the ways of God that he has pursued from the early stages of his life. God is with him, he is doing well, we are satisfied and may God continue to strengthen him.

” We have been very lucky with the stool of Alara. The former Alara, Oba Akeem Adesanya was a very religious supporter of government and Kabiesi, you have started doing that already and you are doing better. I have told people that in Eredo, we don’t have too many things but we have a few things that are significant to us. We have the Alara stool and Sungbo Eredo.And in Epe Division, we have the Alara stool as the number one heritage that all of us should be very proud of ”

He solicited the continuous support of government, prayers for leaders and admonished citizens to perform their duties and pray for the country.

Dr. Poku Akuwateh, Executive Director, Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics CIPRM, Ghana also spoke with Ekohotblog.

He noted the essence of the award presented to Oba Ogunsanwo was to encourage to do more and continue in his line of altruism and selflessness.

He added the place of Nigeria in Africa as a Big Brother to all other countries and stated is country’s firm support with Nigeria against terrorism.

He said ” The Institute have come to honour a great man, a leadership Icon of excellence and a giant of history, talking about his Royal Majesty, King Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the renown tax consultant and tax administrator.
