EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag believes Marcus Rashford is in unstoppable form for Manchester United after his fifth goal against Everton on Friday.
The 25-year-old created two goals and scored a penalty in United’s FA Cup third round win over Everton to take his tally for the season to 16 club and international goals.
Rashford has scored in all five of United’s matches since the World Cup and he was named the club’s player of the month for December.
“Again, great performance in the game but he was from the first minute in the game,” Ten Hag said. “As a team, we dealt good with the setback and I think Marcus was the one who goes in front and showed the conviction, showed the belief, good movement, good runs behind, taking players on. For 90 minutes he was a threat for the Everton defenders.
“As a striker, you measure goals and assist. Definitely today he had two assists and one goal, so it’s great and he has fantastic skills.
When he has that mental stability he keeps going but that demands a lot from him and also us as a team, the organisation.”
“Make sure we have the right environment and the right culture. When he keeps focus like this I’m sure he keeps this process going.”
“That’s one part and I can see some technical capabilities with the players when we work with them,” Ten Hag added.
“Although we don’t have so much time but he can work on his weaker foot, he can work on his heading but I think a lot of other skills.
“It’s very good, it’s more about bringing him in the right position – he has to do it – but make sure as a team we create spaces so he’s coming as a strength.
Marcus is doing really well but also is the team to get the right shape so he can bring his strengths in and then he’s unstoppable with his speed, with his dribbles, with his directness.
“We have good staff and many staff members contributing to performances from the team, individuals, and we do a lot with individuals but we also do a lot with combinations, lines in the team.
But the most important the way of playing. The most important is the players cooperate and challenge each other and bring each other to the best positions. There is a lot of work in it but the most important is Marcus himself.”
