EKO HOT BLOG reports that Hon. Hakeem Amode, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State Publicity Secretary, has criticized the state’s proposed increase in the fare for BRT buses.
Effect from July 13, all trips within the state will be subject to an additional flat cost of N100. This increase will have an impact on other routes within the state as well. For example, a trip from Ikorodu to TBS will now cost N600 instead of N500, and Berger to Ajah will now cost N700 instead of N600.
The spike in diesel prices from N187 to N830 at the pump is attributed by the APC-led government to both the scarcity of spare parts and the price increase.
According to Hon. Amode, with the crippling economic situation, brought about by this same government’s ineptitude , being experienced by Lagosians on a daily basis, the Lagos State government has shown lack of compassion and total disregard for the plight of the citizens of the state.
Hon . Hakeem Amode said that the Governor Sanwo-Olu lead APC administration has completely abdicated its responsibility to the people of the state, and turn a blind eye to their predicament.
