EKO HOT BLOG reports that renowned Hollywood actor Richard Gere, aged 73, has been reportedly hospitalized with pneumonia while on a family vacation in Mexico. The actor was on the trip with his wife, Alejandra Silva, celebrating her 40th birthday.
According to TMZ, Gere was admitted to a hospital close to their vacation home in Nuevo Vallarta after being diagnosed with the lung infection.
It was reported that he had been experiencing a cough before the vacation, and his condition worsened during the trip, which prompted him to seek medical attention.
Following treatment, the actor was said to have spent one night in the hospital before being discharged. Sources claim that Gere is now recovering and that his health is improving. He has been given antibiotics to continue his treatment as he recovers outside the hospital.
Gere and his wife, a Spanish publicist, tied the knot in 2018 on his vast ranch in upstate New York. The couple has two sons together, a four-year-old named Alexander, and a two-year-old whose name has not been disclosed to the public.
Before Silva, Gere was married to Cindy Crawford, a 1990s supermodel, and Bond girl Carey Lowell. Gere and Lowell were married from 2002 to 2016 and have a son named Homer, aged 23, who was named after the actor’s father.
Richard Gere is a highly acclaimed actor who has starred in many popular films such as “Pretty Woman,” “An Officer and a Gentleman,” and “Chicago.” He is also known for his humanitarian efforts and activism for human rights causes.
