The Holy Child College Old Girls Association (HCCOGA), consisting of alumni from the years 1979 to 1984, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a series of impactful donations to their alma mater.
The event took place from October 9 to 13, 2024, marked by a “Back to School” initiative aimed at enhancing the school’s facilities and supporting the staff.

Among the contributions made during the celebration were a state-of-the-art 75-inch smart screen for the school hall, bags of rice for the staff, and a donation of N500,000 to the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ).
The occasion brought together several old girls, including Mrs. Sola Obey, Mrs. Bunmi Lawson, Rev. Sister Christiana Olagunju (Principal of Holy Child College), Mrs. Helen Irumundomon (President of HCCOGA 1984), Mrs. Eniola Karunwi, and Mrs. Funke Shobowale, who were all present to commemorate the milestone and contribute to the school’s growth.
Holy Child College is a Catholic secondary school for girls in Lagos, Nigeria. Established on April 9, 1945, by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ) and run by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, it is located in South-West Ikoyi, on the cusp of Obalende and Keffi, next to its brother school, St Gregory’s College, Lagos.
The school consists of three years of Junior Secondary School (JSS) and three years of Senior Secondary School (SSS) as part of Nigeria’s 6-3-3-4 educational system, preparing students for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations and ensuring eligibility for graduation.
