At the recently held maiden Presidential Gala Night of the Okemagba Development Association (ODA), Hon. Samsideen Adekunle Adeniyi, the Publicity Secretary, delivered a heartfelt address highlighting the core objectives of the event and the association’s vision for the community.
Speaking to EkoHotBlog, Adeniyi stressed the importance of preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Okemagba in Eredo, Epe, emphasizing that the event was a testament to the community’s unity and resilience.
He pointed out that the gala night was more than a celebration; it was a platform to reflect on the community’s achievements and to strategize on sustainable development for future generations.
Adeniyi spoke extensively about the association’s commitment to fostering socio-economic growth, particularly through education and technological advancement. He announced that ODA had finalized plans to transform a local town hall into a state-of-the-art technology hub.
This initiative aims to empower the youth by providing them with access to training in digital skills, innovative technologies, and entrepreneurship. He noted,
“Through this tech hub, we intend to create a space where young minds can thrive, innovate, and lead the community towards a brighter, technology-driven future.”
In addition to technological empowerment, Adeniyi revealed that ODA is keen on supporting the educational aspirations of young people within the community.
He outlined that the association will sponsor students studying Medicine, Computer Science, Architecture, and other related fields at universities, with the goal of nurturing them into future employers and leaders. “Our mission is to produce well-rounded individuals who will not only contribute to the growth of Okemagba but also drive development across other sectors,” Adeniyi explained.
Highlighting the diversity and strength of Okemagba, which comprises 11 villages, Adeniyi acknowledged the unique contributions of each village to the community’s heritage.
He emphasized that ODA’s initiatives are designed to address pressing community challenges while fostering a sense of pride and collective responsibility among the residents.
“Through education, technology, and cultural preservation, we aim to build a sustainable future for Okemagba, ensuring that every village plays a part in our collective progress,” he said.
The gala night also featured various performances and displays of the community’s cultural heritage, further emphasizing the significance of unity and cultural preservation in shaping the future.
Adeniyi concluded by calling on all residents to support ODA’s vision and actively participate in the ongoing development projects, stressing that together, they could secure a legacy of progress and prosperity for generationst o come.
