Hon. Akiolu Revives Aquaculture In Lagos Island

In a program that held on Thursday, December 10, Hon. Akiolu invested in aquaculture and fish farming for residents in Lagos Island Federal Constituency II.

Hon. Kayode Moshood Akiolu- a member of the Federal House of Representatives, empowered members of his constituency with Knowledge, Resource, and Financial support.

The program tagged “Promotion and Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Lagos Island Federal Constituency II ” is aimed at harnessing and maximizing the readily available aquatic splendour of the constituency towards the eradication of unemployment and emancipation from poverty.

The training which was anchored by Mr Jackson Ndueso, Assistant Director Fisheries of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, exposed the participants to the rudiments, tips, and tricks of Fisheries as well as the financial freedom opportunity available in aquaculture and fisheries.

Speaking at the opening of the training, Hon. Akiolu implored the participants to take advantage of the abundance of water available to the constituency and embrace fisheries just like the way the youths of Niger Delta embraced the use of oil through the Local Content Initiative.

The highlight of the training was the empowerment of the 80 participants who were selected across the constituency with 500 fingerlings, 20 sacks of Aqua Max Feeds, and Cash Grant as a starting capital.

“We never knew this could happen in Nigeria let alone in our constituency and being a beneficiary is indeed a thing of joy”, a beneficiary told Eko Hot Blog.
