Eko Hot Blog reports that Louis Ibah has been nominated as a Special Adviser on Media and Communications by Rt. Honourable Ekperikpe Ekpo, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas).
Ibah, a founding member of Platforms Africa, has been employed for 23 years, working in a variety of industries, including oil and gas.
Adeola Yusuf, Team Lead of Platforms Africa, responded to Ibah’s hiring by calling it “a round peg in a round hole.”
According to Yusuf Ibah’s appointment will significantly contribute to the realization of the minister’s goal of fostering growth and development in the Nigerian gas sector. He noted that the minister was diligent in obtaining Ibah, who is versatile in covering the gas sector for more than 20 years.
Ibah has an MA in English Literature from the University of Lagos and a BA with honors in English Language from the University of Uyo.
With over 23 years’ experience in environment, aviation and energy reporting, Ibah is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), Institute of Change Management (ICM) and a Fellow of the World Press Institute (WPI), St. Paul, Minnesota USA.
Before being transferred to the Abuja bureau office in 2003, he began his career as a reporter in 2000 with The Punch Newspaper in Lagos.
He began working for The Sun Newspaper’s Business Desk as a Chief Correspondent in April 2006. He quickly advanced to the position of Deputy News Editor, which he maintained up until his most recent appointment.
