Hon. Olowa Inspects Labora-Owode Canal, Urges Proper Waste Disposal for Environmental Sustainability
Ekohotblog reports that Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, has stressed the importance of proper waste disposal to protect the environment. He made this point during an inspection of the recently cleared Labora-Owode canal, which aimed to prevent flooding and ensure smooth water flow.
Accompanied by Vice Chairman Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, and other officials, Hon. Olowa visited several locations, including Gbetu and Container Bus Stop. They also spoke with local residents along the way.

During the tour, the team discovered a blockage in the canal caused by some individuals, which was disrupting the flow of water. Hon. Olowa called on residents to follow environmental laws and avoid harmful practices.
He praised community members who have kept their areas clean and urged them to continue. The Chairman also assured residents that the State Government would soon take action to resolve flooding issues, aiming for long-term improvements in the Council Area.
