Member representing Epe Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives,  Hon Wale Raji, has proven his dedication towards changing the face of education which he believes will serve as a veritable tool for the liberation and upliftment of Epe constituents of Epe Federal Constituency.

Hon Raji, who took Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo on a tour of his Education intervention projects in Epe, said that it was in recognition of the place of education in liberating the mind that he decided to embark on the intervention projects across the constituency.

As gathered by EKO HOT BOG, Hon Wale Raji and the Honourable commissioner were also in the company of Local Government Chairmen and Councilors from Epe, Agbowa-Ikosi and Eredo including other political associates some of which include Epe LGA APC Party Chairman, Mr. Kehinde & Mrs. Stella Dolapo Odufisan.

While addressing the Education Minister during the tour, Hon. Raji noted that more projects are already underway as reflected in his 2021 budget.

“We have an ICT Center at Ogunmodede College, Papa, Epe. It is planned to accommodate a minimum of 50 students who can be taught at a time and there is provision to expand the capacity. The whole idea is that we will have a center that students can come from all over the community to come and learn and if there is a Computer Based Test, it will serve as a center for that purpose.”

Hon Raji, who gave detailed description of other school intervention projects said he felt the prodding conviction to intervene in the area of education after the idea was peddled to him by some of his constituents. He also charged the Lagos State Government to continue investing in rural/riverine education since he as well as other prominent members of the society have emerged as products of the system.

“A block of 6 Classrooms is also ongoing at Imokun. We also have one at Oriba, a riverine community. The only class room in Oriba community was built during the UPE era of the 60s or 70s and it has virtually collapsed. What we are providing will be the only functional block of classroom there. So in actual fact, that project was meant to be for the secondary school but we couldn’t ignore the condition of the primary school, hence the decision”.

“There is also Aboriji LA Primary School after Ise and Igbogun. There, the only block of Classroom was built by Late Lateef Jakande. The roof is no more, so the students are learning under not too good conditions and as a result, we are providing a block of Classroom for them”.

The entourage thereafter paid a courtesy call to the Oloja of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, visited Temu Community and ended the glide-ride at the state of the art Epe Resort and Spa, where the Commissioner for Education was treated to a scrumptious, VIP lunch.

The education intervention project joins a long list of laudable projects carried out by Hon Raji as Member representing Epe Federal Constituency. In recent memory, the honourable member of the FHR has been responsible for facilitating the reconstruction of the Epe-Itoikin road under the aegis of the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. He has also unveiled empowerment schemes for traders, given cash grants to market women and the extremely indigent in Epe division, all within a boundless largesse that has changed countless lives in Epe Federal Constituency.
