It was all mirth and gaiety as former Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Eredo LCDA, Hon Shamsideen Adeniyi, on Friday, April 30th, 2021, marked his 50th birth anniversary in grand style.
The celebration, which was more of a humanitarian event, held at the popular Hon Lanre Odubote Hall, Odo-Shiwola, and attracted political heavyweights in Eredo and notable personalities from all works of life.
While addressing the gathering, the celebrant and former Sky Rider LCC CEO based in Dubai, UAE, thanked dignitaries in the gathering for honouring him. He was immensely appreciative of the patience of his wife, popular TVC host, Mrs Doja Adeniyi, noting that he is blessed with a partner who understands his philanthropic disposition.

Speaking further, he thanked the Almighty God for giving him the grace to attain the age of 50, noting that he was decisive in marking his birthday with a program that would put a smile on the faces of his people. He thereafter described his humanitarian services outfit, Ojo Ibukun Foundation as such that has been in existence for over half a decade with the fundamental goal of lifting people out of poverty, which has captured over 300 less privileged pupils all through their Primary education. He, therefore, alluded to the support of Hon Odeyemi WASTAB and others since inception.
The colourful event which attracted hundreds of friends, well-wishers and community members as reported by Eko Hot Blog, proceeded with the Ramadan Tafsir delivered by Fadeelat Sheikh Akanni Lawal, the Guest Lecturer.
Amongst many other things, the scholar harped on the need to see politics as a veritable platform to build a better Nigeria. He stated that greed, self-centeredness, selfishness and all other forms of behaviours antithetical to the progress, growth and development of the Nation must be eschewed by all and sundry.
Sheikh Akanni Lawal thereafter called on well-meaning Nigerians to spend their wealth in similar adoption programs, especially at IDP camps. which he said is capable of arresting several National security issues bedevilling the country. He noted that if nothing is done in years to come, especially with the advancement in technology, these young minds without equal opportunities to thrive would likely take to crime in a bid to survive the broken system that would ultimately be produced due to society’s negligence.
