As a new democratic dispensation begins in Nigeria, other levels of government should experience the same change. That is the disposition of Honourable Abiodun Tobun, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency 1.
Hon. Tobun made this known in an exclusive interview with Eko Hot Blog at his residence in Epe on Sunday, May 28th, when he confirmed his intention to vie for the speakership position of the Lagos State House of Assembly come June 7th, 2023.
He is contesting alongside the incumbent speaker, Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, who he says has been on the seat since 2015, and the time has come for a new leadership change.
Hon. Tobun told Eko Hot Blog that if elected into office, he would represent, prioritize, and protect the interests, prosperity, and well-being of all citizens. He said he would work collaboratively with other elected officials to take action for the betterment of all constituents.
When asked about the success of the 9th assembly, he said the 9th assembly has done wonderfully well under the leadership of Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa and lots of projects were completed.
On the expectations of the 10th assembly, which he hopes to be the speakership of, he said the house is planning the legislative agenda and will concentrate more on youth empowerment, the extension of health facilities to the nooks and crannies of the state, and the redevelopment and renovations of primary health centers and tertiary health centers.
Eko Hot Blog gathered at the interview that Hon.Tobun is passionate about serving the people of Lagos state, and he is eminently qualified given his antecedents and litany of the life-changing program he embarked upon.
