Wale Raji, Federal House of Representatives, Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, delivered a powerful message advocating unity and stability within the religious community.

EDITOR’S PICK:

Amidst recent religious unrest in the region, Hon. Wale Raji explicitly stated that the mosque should not be a place for conspiracy and politics.

He drew inspiration from Quran chapter 3 verse 6, emphasizing, “It is God that gives power to the powerful, and it is God that installs people in positions as well.”

This scriptural reference underscored the divine nature of leadership and the responsibility it entails.

In his insightful address, Hon. Wale Raji highlighted the spiritual significance of every position, stating, “At the same time, every position is a test; God will lead you right on what to do.”

This perspective reinforces the idea that those in leadership roles, including the new Chief Imam, should approach their responsibilities as a divine test guided by God’s wisdom.

Furthermore, Hon. Wale Raji reminded everyone of the ultimate accountability awaiting each individual, stating, “Let also remember that everyone will give an account of how they spent their life to the creator when the time comes on the day of judgment.” This profound reflection on accountability serves as a moral compass, urging individuals to uphold righteous conduct throughout their lives.

As the ceremony unfolded, Hon. Wale Raji continued his call for unity by emphasizing, “To those who will be working with him, the mosque should not be a place of conspiracy and politics; they should work together as one to further promote peace and the good image of Islam.”

This plea for collaboration aims to create a cohesive environment within the mosque, fostering an atmosphere of peace and positive representation of Islam.
