EKO HOT BLOG reports that a member of the House of Representatives, representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon Wale Raji, kicked off the distribution of N64 million to empower 1,280 business women, traders and artisans across Epe Federal Constituency.
Hon Wale Raji who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday said that the bank accounts have been credited with a 2 million naira take off grant each totalling 64 million naira as of the close of work Wednesday, 18th May 2022.
It further said a date would be announced for the official launch of the empowerment program where a certificate of registration, cheques and other vital documents required for the running of the cooperatives would be handed out to leaders of the cooperatives.
The statement reads, “The account of the 32 Registered Cooperative groups sponsored by Rep. Wale Raji under the Sustainable Grassroots Women Empowerment Programme domiciled in UBA have been credited with 2 million naira take off grant each totalling 64 million naira as at close of work Wednesday, 18th May 2022
“It will be recalled that 1280 economically active constituents comprising of women, traders and artisans were selected from different parts of Epe Federal Constituency, grouped into 32 Cooperative groups and were registered with the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative.
“At a soon to be announced date for the formal launch of the initiative, Registration Certificate, Cheques and other documents required for the independent running of the cooperatives will be handed over to their leaders.

“The principal officers of the cooperatives (Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) will embark on 2 days of training at Lagos State Cooperative College to ensure they are efficiently equipped in managing the affairs of their respective cooperatives.”
This online media platform gathered that the empowerment programme which has been in the pipeline for a while is meant to cater for the financial needs of business women in the constituency.
